Hajjar: I overdid it, so I had to break the circle.
Yuki Tsunoda reached the final of the sprint qualification and clocked the eighth time. For his Racing Bulls teammate, the session was not so successful – Isaac Hajjar made a mistake at the beginning of the fastest lap in the second session, aborted the attempt and completed the second part of qualifying with the fifteenth time.
Yuki Tsunoda (8th): "Of course, I'm happy with the result and how everything went. From the point of view of car settings, we could have done something better, because I didn't feel 100% confident behind the wheel and couldn't get the most out of the car. We will study the telemetry to sort everything out, but as I said, I am very happy with the result.
It's a pity that everything ended like this for Isaac, but he accelerated me well in the second session, which helped. Thanks to him, it was a great team effort. Let's see what awaits us tomorrow."
Isaac Hajjar (15th): "The first session went very well, and I was close to the leaders. I knew I had to do a really good lap in the second session to reach the final, but unfortunately I overdid it, so I had to abort the attempt.
I think everyone had some difficulties today, because there is a high load on the tires on this track, which leads to overheating in corners. It's a pity that it happened, because we have a fast car. But I'm still learning, so before tomorrow's sprint and qualifying, I have to figure out exactly what went wrong today."
