Grand Prix troublemakers arrested in Melbourne
Victoria State police have confirmed the arrest of two local bloggers who entered the racetrack on the day of the Australian Grand Prix using fake security passes – we mentioned this incident a week ago.
After the race, the two posted a video on social media documenting their "adventure": once on the racetrack, they were able to enter areas where access was restricted and outsiders were generally prohibited. For example, when the cars were on the highway, they were next to the curb on the outside of the protective barriers.
The organizers of the race, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, contacted the police, law enforcement officers conducted an investigation and confirmed that two violators of safety rules were detained yesterday on charges of illegally impersonating security personnel.
They turned out to be two 18-year-old residents of Melbourne, their homes were searched, as a result of which computers and other "electronic devices" were seized, after which both were interrogated by the police.
One was charged with ten counts, the other with seven, including in an official police statement such offenses as "obtaining financial advantage by fraud, making false documents and illegal entry into the territory."
The videos that the violators managed to post on social networks have already been deleted, and their authors will appear in court in June.
