Elbon visited Bangkok to support the idea of the Thai Grand Prix
The Formula 1 management is constantly negotiating with representatives of several countries at the same time, as it is important to expand the geography of the championship and explore new markets. But this is in theory, and in practice, some projects seem more realistic, while others will be much more difficult to implement.
The future will show which category the idea of the Thai Grand Prix, which we recently discussed, should be attributed to, but Williams racer Alex Albon followed Stefano Domenicali, the president of Formula 1, to Bangkok on his way to Japan.
This is quite logical, because Alex's mother is from Thailand, although he was born and lived in the UK all his life, but he also has Thai citizenship, and in Formula 1 he competes under the flag of this country.
Yesterday, he visited Thailand, where he met not only with enthusiastic local fans, but also with Pyeongchang Shinawatra, the youngest prime minister in the history of this country. She is 38 years old, and she is actively promoting the national Grand Prix project.
"The Prime Minister is determined to support the talented Thai racing driver and considers it promising that Thailand could host a Formula 1 race in the future. Interesting times are waiting for Thai racing fans!" – such a message appeared on the official pages of the government of the country under a photo taken during the meeting of Elbon and Shinawatra.
By the way, negotiations on the Grand Prix were initially conducted under the former Prime Minister of Thailand, who attended the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola a year ago.
"I have no words! – Alex, in turn, shared yesterday's impressions. - It was an absolutely incredible experience, and I am very grateful for everything that happened that day! Thank you to everyone who came to meet me and expressed their love and support!"
