Japanese Grand Prix: Changes on the track and DRS zones

On the eve of the Japanese Grand Prix, the FIA spoke about the changes on the track and confirmed the location of the only DRS zone.

Compared to last year, the asphalt on the section from the first turn to the entrance to the eighth was replaced on the highway. The gravel safety zones were returned behind the double curbs in the second, eighth and ninth turns. All marshals' posts are now covered with mesh fencing, and the fence is at least 2.5 meters high throughout the circle.

Exits have been installed along the entire perimeter of the track, through which riders can leave the track if necessary. Wooden posts with signs showing the location of fire extinguishers have been replaced with plastic ones.

As in previous years, Suzuka has the only DRS zone on the starting line. The interval measuring point is located fifty meters before the 16th turn, and the activation point is one hundred meters before the control line.
