Hajjar: Seventh place is a good starting position
In Suzuka, Liam Lawson returned to Racing Bulls and lost in qualifying for the third time this season, this time to newcomer Isaac Hajjar.…
Isaac Hajjar (7th): "Yesterday we had a great start to the weekend, I immediately felt comfortable in the car, showed good speed. I didn't like everything about Saturday's practice, but the team did a fantastic job making the necessary adjustments to the car during the session.
In the first part of qualifying, I felt some discomfort in the cockpit due to the seat belt being too tight, but at the end of the session I jumped out of the car and the team was able to fix everything, which allowed me to drive safely in the second and third parts. It helped me to fully focus on piloting.
Overall, I'm happy with my performance and the way the lap went until the last chicane, where I lost tenth.
It may rain tomorrow, so the situation will be completely different than today, but seventh place is a good starting position, if you can start without problems, there is a chance to earn points."
Liam Lawson (14th): "It was a difficult day, especially compared to Friday, when we had a good pace and balance. At some point, I think, because of the wind change, it became much more difficult. It's a pity that this happened – our car is fast this weekend, I feel comfortable driving, but for some reason we lost speed during qualifying.
In qualifying, when the condition of the track improves, everyone adds speed and you constantly adjust the balance to keep the car in the optimal range. At some point, it was like we hit a wall and couldn't do more.
It looks like the race will be held on a wet track, it won't be easy for everyone, but we'll get a chance to win back. Let's see what happens."
