Cadillac is considering eight drivers.

The Cadillac factory team will make its debut in Formula 1 next season. The head of the team, Graham Loudon, said that eight riders are being considered for a place in the team, and preliminary negotiations have already been held with each of them or will be held soon.

Loudon did not name specific names, but it can be concluded from his words that these eight include Sergio Perez, Valtteri Bottas and several other drivers who have recently competed in Formula 1, but are not starting this season.

Graham Loudon: "In total, we plan to talk or have already talked with seven or eight riders. I wouldn't surprise anyone if I said that anyone who has recently competed in Formula 1 will be included in this list.

I want to emphasize that at the moment all the conversations are preliminary. We're trying to figure out who's interested in the project, what their motivation is, and things like that. We are definitely not at an advanced stage of negotiations with any of the drivers yet.

A group of riders with extensive experience is available on the market. I'm talking not only about those who have a lot of experience in Formula 1, but also about those who have competed for championship teams and won races.

But there are also younger riders with experience, and this is a different perspective. In addition, there are promising drivers who have no Grand Prix experience, but who have proven themselves in the junior racing series. Taking all this into account, we are in a very good position in terms of forming the pilot team for 2026.

We have repeatedly said that we will take their merits into account when choosing drivers, and I am glad that all the drivers with whom we have had preliminary conversations are ready for Formula 1 and capable of becoming leaders of a professional team."

When asked what the chances of signing American IndyCar driver Colton Herta and American Formula 2 racer Jack Crawford are, Loudon said: "Colton started the season in IndyCar, and he was unlucky in the first stage. But in the last race he drove well and finished fourth.

Of course, we are following Jack's performances in Formula 2 with interest. He was unlucky on the first stage in Melbourne.

As I said, everyone expects the Formula 1 team to invite drivers, taking into account their merits. That's exactly what we're going to do."
