F2: Durksen disqualified, Dunne fined

We talked about the events that took place on Saturday at the Bahrain circuit and how they affected the formation of the starting field in Formula 1, but in the youth Formula 2 it was not without the intervention of the stewards either.

After yesterday's sprint in Sakhir, AIX Racing driver Joshua Durksen, who finished third on the track, was disqualified, and Alex Dunne received two fines.

The FIA technical inspection found out that car No. 20, which Durksen is driving, does not comply with the regulations. It turned out that the diffuser on it was 2 mm lower than allowed by the technical regulations of Formula 2, which was the reason for the disqualification.

Thus, all the riders who finished behind the Paraguayan rose one position higher, and Dino Beganovic, who competes for Hitech, inherited a place on the podium.

In addition, British Rodin Motorsport racer Alex Dunne would have been called to the stewards for the incident with Ritomo Miata, who competes for the ART Grand Prix. Dunne was found to be the culprit, for which he received a 5-second penalty, as a result of which he dropped from 18th position to 19th.

But Alex received another 5-second penalty for a violation committed during the period when the safety car was on the track for the second time during the race.
