Michael Schumacher autographs 'MS' on Stewart's helmet.

      "Corinna found it significant"

      Michael Schumacher has placed his initials on one of Sir Jackie Stewart’s vintage Formula 1 helmets. The seven-time world champion and F1 icon has not been seen or heard from in public for nearly 12 years, following severe brain injuries from a skiing accident. However, when Stewart, 85, asked every living world champion to sign one of his old helmets for a dementia charity auction, Schumacher's wife agreed.

      "According to our sources, this was important to Corinna because all the other living champions had already signed," reported Bild newspaper. Nevertheless, Stewart mentioned to Britain’s Daily Mail that Corinna had to assist the 56-year-old Schumacher in signing a simple 'MS' — a much easier version than his well-known autograph.

      "It is wonderful that Michael could sign the helmet for this worthy cause," stated the triple world champion. "His wife aided him, and it finalized the collection of every champion still with us."
