Russell: I immediately closed the DRS wing and slowed down
George Russell finished second in Bahrain, holding off Lando Norris in the final laps. The British Mercedes driver may still be fined, as he opened the rear wing outside the DRS zone on one of the laps.
Kimi Antonelli finished eleventh and scored no points for the first time this season.
George Russell (2nd): "I had everything under control, but then suddenly the brake-by-wire problems started. The pedal stroke suddenly became long, then short again, so I didn't know what was going on.
The steering wheel wasn't working quite right either, so it was difficult for me to keep the Landau behind. I think if the race had lasted a lap longer, he would have overtaken me quite confidently, so I am very happy with the second place.
Oscar performed in his league, so congratulations to him and McLaren. We won the third podium in four races on different types of tracks, and this gives me confidence in the future.
DRS? I've had all kinds of glitches. On one of the laps, I pressed the Radio button, but the DRS wing opened. I immediately closed it and slowed down without winning anything. I lost more than I gained, because the wing was open for only a split second. This example shows how many problems we are facing."
