In 2026, a new circuit in Madrid will make its debut in Formula 1, which will host the Spanish Grand Prix.
The race at the Madring circuit is scheduled to take place in September next season. Last Tuesday, the organizers signed a contract with the Spanish construction company ACCIONA and the French Eiffel Construction, which will create a joint venture for the construction of the circuit.
Madrid authorities are expected to issue all the necessary documents next week, and workers will begin construction early next month.
"We plan to issue a license and start work so that the track is ready to host the Formula 1 stage in the 2026 season,– said Madrid Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida. – After more than forty years, Formula 1 will return to the streets of Madrid. The best proof that this will happen will be the start of construction of the highway in May."
