Carlos Sainz: My impressions are quite positive
Carlos Sainz finished 5th in Friday's practice sessions at the Jeddah speedway, while his teammate Alex Albon rounded out the top ten. At the same time, it seems that both Williams drivers have quite a positive attitude ahead of Saturday's qualifying.
Carlos Sainz (5th): "I continue to work on my approach to driving, I try to adapt my style to the characteristics of this car and gradually progress. We are also moving forward a little bit in the area of settings to achieve a more correct balance, so that it also better matches my approach to piloting.
The first day of the weekend in Jeddah was positive, in the second session we took a step forward compared to the first, and a quick lap on soft tyres confirmed that we had indeed made improvements.
Although it's only Friday, overall the experience of driving on this difficult track is quite positive. Let's see if we can stay at this level tomorrow.
" Alex Albon (10th): "I really enjoyed driving on this track, where there are so many high-speed sections. There will be a very intense rivalry in qualifying, so we still need to work on fine-tuning the car.
On this track, a lot always depends on the right approach to the rubber, especially since the asphalt surface gradually cools down during the session. We usually manage to keep the tire temperature in the right operating range, so we'll see what results we can achieve tomorrow."
