Sauber has hired a new senior advisor
Sauber team principal Jonathan Wheatley, who took up his duties in early April, has made his first major appointment. A new senior advisor position has been created in the team, which has been filled by Simon Sproule.
Simon Sproule has worked in various management positions for over thirty years at various companies, including Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan, Tesla, Aston Martin Lagonda and Fiat Chrysler. Whitley and Sproule have known each other since the time when the British specialist worked at Nissan, and Infiniti, owned by the Japanese manufacturer, was the title sponsor of Red Bull Racing, in which Whitley worked as a team manager.
Jonathan Wheatley: "Sauber is currently a small team that is undergoing the process of transformation into a full-fledged Formula 1 factory team. We are working on many projects that need to be implemented correctly. One of these projects is the association of employees. The team needs to get used to the discomfort, as changes are coming.
We need to be at the forefront of change, and we need to have a clear roadmap for where we're going. I believe that we are already sticking to this map at the moment."
