F2: Stanek fined, Fershor starts from pole in the sprint

After yesterday's Formula 2 qualifying, the stewards, analyzing a number of incidents that occurred on the track in Jeddah, found out that Roman Stanek, an Invicta Racing driver, interfered with Alex Dunn, who plays for Rodin Motorsport.

For this violation of the sporting regulations, which occurred in turns 7 and 8, Stanek was fined and will lose three positions each in both Saturday's sprint and the main race of the weekend.

Thus, Richard Fershor (MP Motorsport) will start from pole today, and Stanek will move to 4th position, although he showed 10th time in qualifying, and with the starting grid partially reversed, this meant that he had to start the race from first position.

Accordingly, Gabriele Mini (Prema) will rise to the first row, and Pepe Marti (Campos) will move to the third starting position.

But it wasn't just Stanek who received the fine: the result of John Bennett, a Van Amersfoort Racing driver, was annulled, as the stewards decided that he had completed his best lap when red flags had already appeared on the track.

However, the British Formula 2 newcomer didn't lose much: he was supposed to start twentieth, and now he will fall back to the last, 22nd position.
