Rumors suggest that Red Bull might continue its partnership with Honda in 2026.

      "I don't believe a departure is a possibility."

A captivating rumor is circulating in the Jeddah paddock, which could put an end to the speculation surrounding Max Verstappen's potential exit from Red Bull. The challenges for 2025 are one aspect, but reportedly, Verstappen and his management are also quite worried that Red Bull’s powertrains initiative for the new 2026 regulations might render the team even less competitive. There are discussions regarding possible moves to Aston Martin, Mercedes, or other teams—yet the four-time world champion asserted in Saudi Arabia that everyone is discussing the rumors "except me."

Dutch commentator Olav Mol stated on Ziggo Sport, "I don’t think a departure is a possibility. He has a contract, and I believe he wants to assess how things go with Red Bull Powertrains." However, Mol acknowledged that he has heard the major rumor circulating in the paddock. "I heard something about Red Bull struggling with the electrical component and that they might opt to continue with Honda for another season next year to further develop it," he disclosed.

Another rumor suggests that only Racing Bulls might utilize the Red Bull-Ford engine in 2026. "Red Bull can simply rent a customer (Honda) engine," Mol added. An associated theory is that Honda itself may be advocating for the move, concerned about its exclusive 2026 works partner Aston Martin's ongoing performance issues.

"The reality is that we might be the last team in Formula 1 at this point," Fernando Alonso remarked on Saturday. "We have to use three sets of tires in Q1 to try to advance to Q2, and if by some chance you do make it to Q2, you’re left with only used tires afterward. We need to find a way to resolve the problem at the factory because the team in the pits can no longer manage it. I think we’ve exhausted all ideas," he added.
