Pierre Gasly: I left a place for Tsunoda.

Jack Duane represented the Alpine team alone in the race in Jeddah. The Australian rider struggled with rivals the entire distance, but finished only 17th.

For Pierre Gasly, the race ended in the fourth corner of the first lap after a collision with Yuki Tsunoda. The stewards reviewed the incident and concluded that it was a racing incident.

Jack Duane (17th): "A difficult day. During the race, we faced various challenges that prevented us from making progress.

We applied a bold strategy when we decided to switch to Hard tires after the safety car entered the track on the first lap. The goal was to drive this kit to the finish line.

Even though the car handled well in the corners, I couldn't overtake, and as soon as I stepped back to regroup, I was overtaken by my rivals on fresher tires. In the end, it was difficult to get to the finish line with one pit stop, and I had to stop in the pits again.

We'll have a week off before Miami. In the coming days, I will be working on the simulator and with the engineers to draw conclusions from the past weekend and continue to unlock the car's potential."

Pierre Gasly (exit): "It's always unpleasant to finish a race after an accident on the first lap. It's been a long time since I've been in a situation like this, and it upsets all of us in the team.

I had an advantageous trajectory before the fourth turn, but I knew that Yuki was inside the turn, so I left him a place, but so that I could stay within the boundaries of the white lines. Unfortunately, I had contact with him, but that happens sometimes in racing.

The team had a lot of positive things this weekend. We knew that this track was not particularly suitable for our car, but we still showed a competitive level and fought for points. It gives you confidence for the next races."
