Piastri: This is one of the most difficult races of my life.
Oscar Piastri took his third victory of the season and the second in a row in Jeddah, but admitted that it was one of the most physically exhausting races of his life. His team-mate finished fourth and was upset that he didn't make it to the podium, but admitted that he had made life difficult for himself.
Oscar Piastri (1st): "I wish I could sit on the couch right now! It was a very difficult race, but of course I am very happy that I won it. I did most of the work at the start, and at the first corner I claimed the lead, and that was enough.
As soon as I took the inside trajectory, it was clear that I had to get out of the turn first. However, the stewards had to step in, but I thought I was well ahead of Max.
It was difficult to chase him in the first stint and stay behind him, the tires quickly lost their effectiveness, and it was very good that after the pit stop I was already driving on an empty track. All in all, we had a great race and did everything right, although we should have added more because Max got closer to us than we would have liked.
In my opinion, the main improvement of my car was that the drinking water supply system worked this time! It's already good! But racing on this track is always very difficult in terms of physical exertion. And today's Grand Prix was definitely one of the most difficult in my career."
Lando Norris (4th): "It's so hot in here! I don't think this is the best possible result, because, unfortunately, we missed the chance to reach the podium. However, it is always difficult to judge this, because Charles Leclair had a great race, drove well in the first segment, so he was in a favorable position in the second.
But I made life difficult for myself, especially in such a race. If I had been riding in front, my task would have been much easier. But I just have to work on making things better on Saturdays, and then everything will be fine.
We don't think we have that much of an advantage, and today it was confirmed. Max would probably have been faster than everyone else if he hadn't received a 5-second penalty. This means that we must continue to work hard, although overall I am happy with the way we are working. However, we weren't fast enough on the straights today, and we didn't have a clear advantage over other teams..."
