Frederick Wasser: Sometimes Charles rode faster than Piastri

In Saudi Arabia, Ferrari achieved its first podium of the season thanks to Charles Leclair's third place. Despite the fact that the Scuderia is noticeably losing to rivals from McLaren and Red Bull Racing, team principal Frederic Wasser has found reason for optimism.

Frederic Vasseur: "Charles had a good race and deservedly finished third. He was more conservative in the early laps, and when he found himself in dirty air behind another car, we changed our strategy to extend the stretch. He controlled the tire wear very well, and after the tenth lap he gradually increased the pace. He was particularly successful in the segment when he was driving on an empty highway.

At some points in the race, Charles was even faster than Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen. This indicates a good race pace, but the team must continue to work to improve on a fast lap in qualifying mode.

Lewis, in general, has more problems with the pace, and it didn't help him that he rode in dirty air for most of the race. You need to stay focused and keep working – then the results will come.

We will start preparing for the race in Miami on Monday. This season, we will continue to adhere to the "one race at a time" approach, and remain focused on our own tasks. We had the same approach last year, and we plan to stick to it."
