Red Bull decided not to challenge Verstappen's fine.

Max Verstappen received a penalty for actions in the first corner at the start of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, when he drove off the track in a fight with Oscar Piastri. The stewards considered that the reigning world champion gained an advantage due to this, and punished him with a five-second penalty.

The head of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, was very unhappy with the fine after the finish and brought a printout of the broadcast shot from Max's car to a meeting with the press. The team had 96 hours to appeal, but today a Red Bull Racing official confirmed to Planet F1 that the team would not contest the fine.

In Jeddah, Verstappen was not the only one who received a penalty for driving off the track and gaining an advantage due to this. Liam Lawson committed a similar offense and was fined 10 seconds. The stewards explained that 10 seconds is the standard penalty for such a violation, and Max received a smaller one, since the incident occurred at the start in the first corner.
