Kimi Antonelli: Bottas' help is incredibly helpful

      In 2025, Valtteri Bottas returned to Mercedes as the third driver. One of the Finn's tasks is to pass on his experience to 18–year-old Kimi Antonelli, who made his Formula 1 debut this season. The Italian rider explained exactly what Bottas' help was.

      Kimi Antonelli: "I never turn down advice, and I always listen to it. I'm just a young guy who just came into the world of Formula 1, so I have a lot to learn. Valtteri has a lot of experience, so there's no reason why I shouldn't listen to his advice.

      I try to memorize and apply everything he teaches me on the track. His help is incredibly helpful.

      For example, in Suzuka, I had serious problems warming up the tires. Valtteri explained to me how best to operate on the exit lap of the pits in order to warm them up as much as possible and squeeze out the maximum, preparing the tires for a fast lap. It's not so much about the driving, but about the many little details that can make a difference on the track."
