Alguersuari suggested that Lewis was going to leave.

Five races of the season are behind him, but Lewis Hamilton has not yet reached the podium, and winning the Shanghai sprint remains his most striking achievement this year.

There is a lot of talk now that the adjustment period to the new team and to the Ferrari car is not going the way he would like, and therefore the seven-time world champion is not in the best mood.

Jaime Alguersuari, a former Formula 1 racer who once played for Toro Rosso and is a regular contributor to the Spanish podcast The After Lap, expressed a very radical opinion that Hamilton could leave Ferrari sooner than anyone might assume.

"I have the impression that Lewis is going to leave. I don't know why I took the risk to say this," Alguersuari said. "But I have a feeling that Hamilton decided that his time was running out, and since he had already achieved a lot, he said to himself, 'OK, I'll go to Ferrari, I'll make this attempt, and then we'll see what happens in 2026.'

Ferrari is no longer a championship team anymore – it's a team that can win races, but it doesn't win championships. The last time she won the Constructors' Cup was in 2008. They may have a competitive car and it's a good team, but not a championship car – that's the difference."

In Saudi Arabia, Lewis Hamilton finished only seventh, behind the young Kimi Antonelli, who took his place in Mercedes, after which he admitted that he had no explanation why his business was going so badly.

"At the moment, nothing can be fixed. That's how it's going to go on all year, and it's going to be very painful," Hamilton said at the time.
