      Fernando Alonso (17th): "A difficult day. We didn't have enough speed in qualifying to get through to the second session, so it won't be easy to score points in the race. We need to sort out the problems and find our own pace.

      I had a great sprint and I was counting on points. We should have switched to slicks earlier, but all our efforts were nullified by Lawson, who caused the accident. I am grateful to the team who restored the car before qualifying. Our mechanics are always top notch, thank them for that."

       Lance Stroll (19th): "We know we don't have enough pace right now, and we were expecting a similar result in qualifying. After the sprint, we adjusted the settings somewhat and the behavior of the car changed for the better, but overall we are not fast enough.

      It was nice to show a decent result in the sprint. We are happy with small successes, but we are far from the results we are striving for. We need to get more speed out of the car."
