Norris: It looks like luck is on my side in Miami!

A year ago in Miami, Lando Norris opened the scoring, and today he won the sprint on this track. Oscar Piastri, his McLaren team–mate, finished second, although he took the lead in the first seconds of Saturday's short race - but Lando was just lucky, the safety car drove onto the track at the most successful moment for the Briton.

Lando Norris (1st): "It looks like luck is on my side in Miami, so I'm happy. But my pace was also very good, although races like today's are always difficult. You never know when it's best to go to the pits.

It is possible to make a pit stop early, and in the case of Lewis Hamilton, this tactic worked, it turned out to be successful. Or you can stay on the track longer, and then maybe you'll be lucky if there's a safety car on the track.

I've been lucky for the second year in a row. Although, perhaps, I would prefer that all this happened not today, but in tomorrow's Grand Prix, but I accept this result. I'm happy, the team did a good job, and the race was fun!"

Oscar Piastri (2nd): "I did almost everything right, so I'm a little upset that I only finished second, but sometimes it happens that way. Unfortunately, racing is generally a pretty brutal business.

Hopefully, this means that I should have better luck in today's qualifying and tomorrow's race. On the other hand, I had a great start once again, and I had to spread my elbows wider in the first corner. In general, I am happy with the way I acted then.

Definitely, my plans for tomorrow are to fight for victory. In yesterday's qualifying for the sprint, we did not show everything that our car is capable of, but we will try to make full use of its capabilities today. And it would be nice to finally have normal weather.

However, in any case, I enjoyed it. We have a fast car, but we will try to make it even faster to simplify our task for tomorrow."
