Alpine is leaning towards replacing Duane with Colapinto in Imola
Alpine is increasingly inclined to replace Jack Duane with Franco Colapinto at the next stage of the season in Imola.
According to Racingnews365, the team is close to making such a decision after the disappointing performance of the Australian driver at the Miami Grand Prix. Although Jack qualified above team-mate Pierre Gasly in Miami for the first time this season, he crashed into Liam Lawson at the start of the race in the first corner and dropped out of the race due to serious damage to the car. In addition, Duane remains one of four drivers who have not scored a single point after six stages of the season.
Rumors about a possible replacement of Duane for Colapinto with the start of the European part of the season have been circulating for a long time, but Alpine CEO Oliver Oakes denied them at a Friday press conference in Miami. However, after the finish of the race in Miami Oaks, he did not talk to the press, which is unusual for him.
