Sergio Perez is in talks with Alpine

Sergio Perez, who stopped working with Red Bull Racing last year, continues to look for an option to return to Formula 1 in 2026.

The Mexican racer is in talks with the new Cadillac team, which will make its championship debut in the new season. It is believed that all agreements between the parties have already been reached, and Peres has the last word. Apparently, Sergio is not too sure about the prospects of the team in the short term, so he is in no hurry to sign a contract and is looking for other options.

According to The Race, at the last Miami Grand Prix, Perez's managers held talks with Flavio Briatore about possible cooperation with Alpine next season. The publication claims that Sergio is not the main contender for Pierre Gasly's teammate at the moment, but the team is ready to consider him along with other candidates – Franco Colapinto and Paul Aron.

The current arrangements with Colapinto mean that he will drive the Alpine for at least the next five stages, and further decisions will be made before Silverstone. It is assumed that by the end of the year, the team will give Paul Aron the opportunity to hold several races, and after that it will decide on the composition for 2026.
