Alain Prost: "The championship title in motorsport is played out on a track where instincts and natural talent are important. But motorsport is also a mind game in which psychology plays an important role. This was already the case when I was performing, but now social media has made this factor even more significant.
Now everything is in plain sight, everyone is showing everything, seeing everything and discussing everything. Many riders succumb to this trend, putting themselves under pressure. But some choose caution and, in my opinion, they do the right thing.
The new leader of the championship, Oscar Piastri, does not communicate too much on social media. We don't know much about his life off the track. Restrained by nature, he disappears from the information field between races, closing himself off from outside pressure.
His partner Norris, on the other hand, is always active on social media, and you can see his photos at shows and nightclubs. In addition, he often publicly admits his weaknesses on the track. But the more you show yourself, the more fragile you become.
I have great respect for Lando and would advise him to keep quiet and not weaken himself in this way. The consequences of such openness are huge, and not just for his fellow racers. It's also the image he creates in the team, which affects the attitude of mechanics and engineers, and this can play a crucial role."
