Bortoleto: Everything worked out well in qualifying

In Imola, Gabriel Bortoleto qualified for the second part of qualifying, while his Sauber teammate Nico Hulkenberg dropped out in the first…

Gabriel Bortoleto (14th): "I'm very happy to get through to the second session - it's not going to be an easy weekend. Unlike Miami, where we were confident in our progress, it was much more difficult today. Nevertheless, everything turned out well.

I drove a clean lap, kept my concentration and made the most of the car's potential. Overtaking is difficult here, tomorrow's race depends on the strategy and events on the track. I'll do my best. Let's see what the result will be."

Nico Hulkenberg (17th): "It's not an easy weekend for me. On Friday and Saturday, I couldn't find the right rhythm and feel the car, which is especially important in Imola. It's fun to race on this old-school track, but it's very fast and unforgiving. A little contact with the curb – and the car loses stability, and you lose time.

My last lap was going well until the last sector, where the car lost pace in turn 17 and I passed it too wide. Luck will be needed in the race tomorrow – on such a narrow track there is rarely a chance to overtake. We take every opportunity to realize our potential, bearing in mind that the race can be unpredictable."
