Leo Turini: Ferrari fans have learned patience a long time ago

Leo Turini, commenting on the results of the weekend in Imola, tried to see reasons for optimism and hope in them, although, as always, he does not hide his emotions.…

In my area, in the Italian province of Modena, farmers have a saying: "You can't throw anything away from a pig at all."

And this is the case. Unfortunately, the saying reflects the time we live in – when I say "we", I mean the Ferrari fans. Following the results of the race, which may have been the last Formula 1 tour in Imola, the Scuderia took 4th and 6th places, and this already allows us to breathe a sigh of relief.

Let's be honest: if you remember how things turned out on Saturday, after yesterday's results of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclair, the feeling of despair became less pronounced. Both drivers performed well, although Charles's luck changed once again. However, this is nothing new.

But the fact remains: seven stages of the championship have already been completed, and the riders in red have only one podium, and even that is only the third place. How can you not get upset, because statistics only dispassionately reflect the harsh truth.

The SF25 machine remains a mystery to everyone who works with it, and it's not funny at all. Of course, the level of results in the qualifications must be improved immediately, because it is very difficult to win back during the races in modern motorsport, it is a whole story.

And Frederick Wasser, who is responsible for everything, no matter how events develop, faces tasks of great complexity. I would like to politely remind you that Ferrari fans have long learned patience, they are already used to waiting. If in February it seemed that they were promised the whole world, then in May all dreams turned to dust, hopes were replaced by confusion.

And if Scuderia needs new bright minds and good specialists to start winning again, then let's invite them!

As for the rest, Kimi Antonelli, who wasn't doing much, also had to get upset this weekend. But when a rider is 18 years old, he still has a lot to learn, and that's completely normal. The only important thing is not to stray from the right trajectory.

Speaking about Max Verstappen, I prefer to be sincere. In 2006, Imola had already said goodbye to Formula 1, and it was done on a high note, because the legendary Michael Schumacher won the race then. If this whole four-wheeled racing circus does not return to the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in the near future, then at least we are pleased that at the end we saw another phenomenal performance by the Dutchman.
