Lance Stroll is fined and will lose his starting position
Lance Stroll will lose one position at the start of the Monaco Grand Prix. This decision was made by the stewards after reviewing his collision with Charles Leclair in the first practice session.
On the way down to the hairpin of turn six, Lance pressed himself against the left side of the track and missed a faster car. After that, the Canadian racer immediately returned to the trajectory, not seeing Leclair approaching, and Charles crashed into the Aston Martin from behind.
At the stewards' hearing, Lance confirmed that the team had warned him about Leclair approaching, but he hadn't heard the message on the radio, so he did what he did. The stewards felt that Charles could not do anything at that moment to avoid a collision, and the blame for what happened lies entirely with Stroll.
Lance Stroll will not only lose his position at the start, but will also receive one penalty point. Now he has three in the last twelve months.
