Charles Leclair: It was a good weekend, but I wanted to win.
Charles Leclair finished second on his home track in Monaco. The Ferrari driver said that the result exceeded the team's expectations, but he still feels bad for missing out on the victory.
Lewis Hamilton regained two positions relative to the start and crossed the finish line in fifth.
Charles Leclair (2nd): "After all, the race was lost yesterday. We should have handled the case better. Lando did a better job this weekend and deserved to win.
Last year, my childhood dream came true. We didn't manage to win this year, but considering all the circumstances, the result is still much higher than expected. I thought it would be difficult to get into the top ten, but in the end, I finished second very close to the winner. Overall, it was a good weekend, but I wanted to win."
Lewis Hamilton (5th): "I do not know what is the reason for such a gap [from my team-mate]. It happens.
Two mandatory pit stops? I can't speak for everyone, because I spent the whole race alone. I started seventh, drove behind two cars for a while, then beat them to a pit stop and drove alone after that.
The gap was really big, I didn't fight with anyone. The departure of the safety car could have brought me back to the race, but it didn't happen. The race turned out to be quite simple for me. I couldn't even get close to the guys who finished ahead."
