Verstappen: The car will be more competitive in Barcelona
Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda expect that the Barcelona speedway will suit the RB21 car, and the team will be able to compete for victory at the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
Max Verstappen: "The race in Monaco was not the most exciting. We did everything right, but in the end we couldn't do more than that in qualifying.
The final stage of the construction series in Spain is ahead. We hope that we will perform better and be close to the form that we showed at Imola. I think Barcelona suits the car better, so we have to be more competitive. The track has a rich history, long and fast turns, so it's interesting to drive here.
I won my first Formula 1 race in Spain, so I have a lot of good memories. I hope we will perform as well as possible this week."
Yuki Tsunoda: "After qualifying in Monaco, I knew it was going to be a difficult race. Overall, the weekend dragged on for a very long time for us. But now I have shifted all my attention to the Spanish Grand Prix, where I will try to show a good result.
I like racing in Barcelona, I like the track and the Spanish cuisine! The drivers know this racing ring well – we've all done a lot of laps here in the tests. Due to the adjustments to the regulations, the weekend should become more interesting. We hope to be more competitive on a track with different types of turns and a long main straight. I'm interested to see how well we can do it.
The last few weeks have been stressful, but it's great to be back with the European fans and playing closer to home. I hope that together with the team we will perform well in Barcelona and finish the series with a positive result."
