Flavio Briatore: We will win races in 2026.

      After leading the Alpine team after a series of changes, Flavio Briatore announced in an interview with Le Monde the goals of winning races in 2026 and fighting for the title in 2027.

      Flavio Briatore: "Today's Formula 1 has become completely different. I remember how the attitude of the press was purely technical, and the journalists were well versed in engineering issues. With Benetton, we started to change this by inviting the lifestyle press, which was later picked up by Red Bull and others. I understood that for serious sponsors, it is important not only for the team to participate in the races, but also for its bright image.

      Together with Benetton and Renault, we found very important sponsors, and I remember that the engineers were against this idea. They told me, "We don't need too many sponsors, because the logo stickers we put on the car weigh too much!" We were the first to have someone on the team who was exclusively involved in marketing. Today, marketing departments are among the largest in teams.

      This season is a transitional one for us, and now all our efforts are focused on next year's car, when the regulations will change in Formula 1. We have to take advantage of this. But in 2026, we will have no excuses: we must be competitive. This is our duty to Renault, Alpine and Luca Demeo. I guarantee that in 2026 we will be able to win races, and in 2027 we should become contenders for the title."
