Luca Demeo: Renault has no intention of selling the team.

      In eight stages of the season, the Alpine F1 team has earned only 7 points, occupies the penultimate place in the Constructors' Cup, and it continues to be feverish. Personnel changes are taking place, the riders are changing, and all this is clearly not conducive to normal work. However, Renault had no plans to curtail the Formula 1 program, as Luca de Meo, the head of the French concern, once again stated.

      "I want to repeat that we have no intention of selling the Alpine team or leaving Formula 1," he said, answering a question from a Gazetta dello Sport journalist during the presentation of the new Alpine A390 electric car. – Participation in competitions is the basis of Alpine's strategy, and Renault has everything it needs to succeed in motorsport.

      Our team is working hard to achieve the results it deserves. In addition, we are now well represented by the Dacia brand in the Dakar rally, and Alpine has already won the first podiums in the World Endurance Racing Championship, so we continue to move along this path."

      Introducing the new electric car model, which is characterized by a sporty character, Demeo also shared his views on the prospects for electrification of motor transport in general: "Electric vehicles will become part of the market, and what their share will be depends on political decisions – whether they will occupy it by 100%, 80% or 50%. But this segment of the European market will only grow.

      I believe that Renault's strong reputation and high level of expertise will allow us to take an important place in this market, which we have already done in the field of hybrid vehicles, where our share has reached 20%."
