They went out: We expect better results.

In Monaco, Pierre Gasly was unlucky – he was one of two riders who failed to reach the finish line the previous Sunday – his Alpine was damaged in a collision with Yuki Tsunoda's car. But he and his team expect better results in Barcelona.

Pierre Gasly: "It was a very difficult weekend for our entire team in Monaco. Of course, we had pretty high expectations before it started, but it turned out that we had serious problems with the pace. On the city ring, where the asphalt surface is very uneven, the car behaved quite differently than on other routes. Unfortunately, we could not get our A525 to work efficiently enough and lagged behind our rivals.

In addition, the results were very dense, because we are talking about a difference of tenths and hundredths of a second. For example, in the first part of qualifying we were only 18th, and at the same time we lost to the author of the best lap by only seven tenths. But when the season develops like this, it is very expensive.

I am sure that we will be in better shape in Barcelona, because the surface is much smoother and there are a lot more fast turns, so I expect that we can expect better results.

In Barcelona, I like the way the weekend goes in general. This city is filled with positive energy, and our team usually feels a lot of support here, because a lot of French fans come to this race. This is probably one of those races where we have really strong support!

On the one hand, all the riders say that they drove thousands of laps on this track, and it tired them a little, but the reality is that the Catalan ring is still one of the best. There are a lot of fast turns here, where you can fully feel how great the aerodynamic efficiency of modern Formula 1 cars is.

The 3rd turn, the 9th and the last turn of the lap we go through at a speed probably under 280 km/h - it never stops, and these sensations give me pleasure."
