Sergio Perez remains interested in a return to Formula 1.

"I’m uncertain about what the future holds."

Sergio Perez is still leaving the possibility open for a comeback in Formula 1. The Mexican driver appeared to have reached the end of his career last year when he was let go, despite having strong commercial support, due to difficulties in keeping pace with his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen. However, the 35-year-old Perez's prospects have improved as his successors, Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda, face even greater challenges. Perez is now quite possibly linked with the new eleventh team in F1 for 2026, Cadillac.

"I’m not sure what will happen," he stated at the Festival de las Ideas in Puebla, Mexico, on Saturday. "I recognize that I didn’t conclude my career in the way I desired or how we deserve. If I come back, it will be with a significant project that inspires us. If I find that opportunity, I will return."

When it comes to his key message for the audience at the Festival of Ideas, he remarked, "Never give up, that is the main message," a phrase he displayed on the back of his helmet during his time with Red Bull.
