However, designer Adrian Newey, who joined Aston Martin only in March, has already expressed his support for the Canadian racer.
Adrian Newey: "I think Lance has an unfairly bad reputation. He has teamed with drivers like Sergio Perez, Nico Hulkenberg, Sebastian Vettel, and now Fernando Alonso. Lance often found himself on the same level as such recognized masters and outstanding racers.
Any driver who competes in Formula 1 is undoubtedly very good. Lance is much better than people think he is."
