McLaren is optimistic about the race in Montreal
After nine stages of the season, McLaren is firmly in the lead in the Constructors' Cup, with its drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris taking first and second positions in the individual standings. The Woking team is confidently preparing for the Canadian Grand Prix, which will be held in Montreal from June 13 to 15.
Lando Norris: "After a weekend without racing, I'm glad to be back on the track. It was great to spend time with the team in Woking last week, where we were able to evaluate the past races of the season and prepare for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Montreal is a great city, and I love racing in it. We will do our best to compete for the victory and earn even more important points."
Oscar Piastri: "I'm very positive and I'm going to Montreal focused. This is a good opportunity for us to confirm the set pace, and I'm looking forward to racing on a fast track where it's necessary to adjust the car to low downforce.
Winning in Barcelona was a great way to end the weekend, and I'm happy to be back at the wheel after a week off. The team is working well in all areas, and we continue to move forward through teamwork."
Andrea Stella, team principal: "The team had a productive week away from the track – we all got together and evaluated the past races. Obviously, despite the strong start to the season, our rivals are very close, so we need to maintain maximum concentration, because we have to achieve results every weekend.
Now all our attention is on the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. We know that it will be interesting in Montreal, as it has a difficult track and often unpredictable weather. As usual, this weekend we will focus on our own tasks and on the areas where the team needs to improve."
