Lindblad uncertain about Red Bull's upcoming F1 strategies.
Arvid Lindblad stated that he is uncertain about Red Bull's plans for his future in Formula 1. Recently, there was speculation regarding a possible race ban for Max Verstappen, leading the FIA to discuss Red Bull's request for a super license for Lindblad, who is still only 17. The F2 newcomer, whose talent has been recognized by Dr. Helmut Marko, made it clear that Red Bull had sought the exemption several months prior. "The super license was requested in February," he mentioned, as reported by Dutch magazine Formule 1. "So I think the timing was just a coincidence. I have no idea what the plan would be if something happened with Max." Krone Zeitung inquired with Red Bull advisor Marko about Lindblad's situation, to which he responded that the FIA granting the license was a "good sign." "Isack Hadjar is evidence that our junior program is effective," the Austrian added. "Now with Lindblad, we once again have someone internally who is very mentally strong. We now have two reserve drivers again—up till now, we only had Ayumu Iwasa, but he has races in Japan that conflict with the Formula 1 schedule." The super license allows Red Bull to give Lindblad practical experience in current F1 cars during Friday practice sessions. "I am very thankful and proud to have the chance to take part in Formula 1 sessions," Lindblad expressed. "I do not yet know if that will actually happen. I still need to discuss it with Red Bull. For now, I am just happy to have received this opportunity at all. Red Bull likely has more information than I do. I was never part of any of those discussions."
