Oliver Oakes' Brother to Stand Trial in 2027

Oliver Oakes' Brother to Stand Trial in 2027

William Oakes, the brother of former Alpine F1 executive Oliver Oakes, will appear in court in April 2027.

In early May, we wrote that Oliver's younger brother was arrested by British police on charges of transferring illegally acquired property. It is now known for sure that it was a question of large amounts of cash, and William was in custody for some time, but Judge Adrienne Lucking decided to release him on bail.

The press reports that the following amounts appear in the case of Oakes Jr.: 831885 pounds, 46120 euros and 10 thousand dollars. Allegedly, this money has a criminal origin.

His older brother, Oliver Oakes, resigned as Alpine team principal on May 6 shortly after the Miami Grand Prix – it was officially reported that he had done so "for personal reasons." Moreover, this happened just a few days after the detention of William Oakes.

According to information in the register of British companies (Companies House), last week William also resigned as director of Hitech Grand Prix, whose teams compete in the Formula 2 and Formula 3 youth series. Oliver Oakes is still the director of this company.
