Marko: Yuki has not achieved the success we expected from him.

In eight races with Red Bull Racing, Yuki Tsunoda scored only seven points. Helmut Marko, Red Bull's motorsport consultant, admitted that the Japanese driver's results did not meet expectations, but the team was ready to give him another chance.

Helmut Marko: "Teaming with Max is something special. I'm not sure if any of the younger riders are ready to say, "My main goal is to compete with Max." They all just want to get into Formula 1.

Yuki started well, but he didn't achieve the success we expected from him. However, on Fridays he is only one to two tenths inferior to Max, which we have not had for several years. Yuki has to convert his speed, which he has, into earned points.

He has talent, and he has improved, including in his approach to work. We all know how impulsive Yuki can be on the radio, but he's learned, and he's a fast racer. He shouldn't try to get ahead of Max, because it's impossible. I think he's accepted that, and hopefully he'll start earning a lot of points."
