Alex Dunn: "I got an amazing chance to get behind the wheel in the first training session in Austria. I'm looking forward to driving the MCL39 laps and helping the team choose the settings for the weekend.
I prepared well by testing the MCL60 and spending a lot of time on the simulator, which was an amazing experience in itself. Thanks to Zach, Andrea and Alessandro for believing in me. This is a big step forward for my development as part of the McLaren youth program, and I am very excited to join the team on the track."
Andrea Stella, team principal: "It's great that Alex has the opportunity to participate in the first training session, because he will get valuable time behind the wheel of Formula 1 as part of his development.
The team is happy to be able to work more closely with him and rely on his help over the weekend, when he will provide useful feedback on the settings.
Sessions for beginners are a fantastic opportunity to see the talents of the future in action, and they get a rare chance to get behind the wheel of an actual car. So we're looking forward to Alex hitting the track."
