Gasly: It's difficult to drive a clean lap in Szpilberg
Having failed to score points in Canada, Alpine hopes to achieve more in Spielberg.…
Pierre Gasly: "After the unsuccessful race in Canada, we need to achieve more in Spielberg, especially since our closest rivals scored points in the last race. Unfortunately, our results were predetermined by poor qualifying, and we know how important track position is these days. The car was fast, but we couldn't make optimal use of the second set of tires, which caused me to drop out of the race in the first part of qualifying, and I started the race from the pit lane.
After the race, I visited the base to take stock, chat with the team and prepare for the double stages in Austria and Silverstone. Spielberg has the shortest track on the calendar, which will make the race very intense. The configuration includes several high–speed turns and sudden braking zones - the circle consists of only nine turns, but it is very difficult to drive it cleanly. We will try to spend the weekend in a good rhythm and earn points.
It was great to get to the world premiere of "F1: The Movie" in New York. It's rolling out this week, and I have to say that I'm really impressed with how Formula 1 has handled this task. Personally, I really liked the movie, and I'm looking forward to the fans' reaction. I will always remember the moment when I walked the red carpet with Brad Pitt."
Franco Colapinto: "In Canada, we didn't achieve the result we expected, but we steadily improved with each session, demonstrating the real potential of our car. We need to keep moving in this direction.
I know the track well from the youth series races, last year I reached the podium in Spielberg, competing in Formula 2. This is a track for real racers, where you need to drive accurately and at a good pace, because the lap is very short. We need to make the most of all the opportunities in qualifying to increase the chances of points in the race.
I was in New York for the premiere of the movie "F1: The Movie". It was a unique experience to walk the red carpet in Times Square and meet Brad Pitt. It's safe to say that I'll never forget this day. The film will be the main topic of conversation in the paddock this weekend, and I'm looking forward to everyone seeing it."
