The police warned: no pyrotechnics in Szpilberg

Next weekend, the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg will be crowded: the Grand Prix organizers expect about 300,000 fans to visit there in three days.

As in previous years, the authorities, police and emergency services of the Austrian state of Styria are intensively preparing for such an influx of the public, including a special traffic pattern on the roads leading to the circuit and in its vicinity. At the same time, they are trying their best to convince fans to use public transport whenever possible.

People are already starting to arrive in Spielberg, their number will increase every day and will reach a peak by Sunday. Due to the summer road repairs, it will not be particularly comfortable to use personal cars, and those who are going to come by campers, i.e. "dachas on wheels", are advised to get to the Red Bull Ring no later than Thursday.

You can also get to the racetrack by train, reaching Knittelfeld station, from where free buses run to the racetrack – It takes about 10-12 minutes to drive. Since the forecast for the weekend promises sunny weather, it is quite possible to get there by bike, especially since special parking areas for two-wheeled vehicles are provided near the racetrack.

Of course, there is a strict ban on the use of pyrotechnics throughout the entire area around the Red Bull Ring, not just at the racetrack itself. In addition, private individuals are prohibited from launching drones, and security services will strictly monitor the situation so that none of the ticket holders bring with them any items that may pose a danger to others.

A special regime will be in effect for almost the entire week, and local law enforcement agencies will organize a temporary police station right next to the stands of the circuit, and it will work around the clock.
