Vaulz: The APXGP team was part of a common cause

We talked about yesterday's premiere of the F1 film, which was held with great success in London, but it is worth quoting several characters who had one way or another to do with this project. On the red carpet leading to the steps of the Odeon Luxe cinema, they gave traditional interviews, and let's start with the director of the film Joe Kosinki.

Joe Kosinski: "We had to invent a whole new camera system. When we started work, it didn't exist. In general, we created a special camera, very small and light, which provides IMAX quality, and we also worked very closely with the Mercedes team.

Thanks to this, a real racing car was developed, piloted by Brad Pitt and Demson Idris, and this entire camera system was integrated into it. I think that together we have built the most technologically sophisticated machine that has ever been created for filming. And during the Grand Prix days, Brad and Demson rode it on a real race track."

James Vowles, head of Williams Racing: "I think viewers all over the world, when they watch this movie, will forget that there was also an 11th team next to our Formula 1 teams. This is not to say that all this was artificially organized just for filming – we were racing at the same time as this process. The filmmakers had the opportunity to shoot only one take, but they did a great job.

When you look at the picture, you feel that we all acted together, and the APXGP team was part of a common cause. That's what struck me when I saw the end result, and I think the filmmakers did a great job."

Andy Cowell, head of Aston Martin F1: "Formula 1 and Hollywood have joined forces, and it's incredibly cool, don't you agree? In my opinion, the result was a wonderful film – it took time to assemble the footage into a single canvas, but now everyone has the opportunity to go to the cinema and watch this picture."
