Tests before the 2026 season will begin in January.
In 2026, Formula 1 will switch to a new technical regulation, which will affect not only the power plants, but also the chassis. The teams are building new cars from scratch, which need to be fully tested before the start of the season, and for Audi and Cadillac, the upcoming championship will be their debut. Therefore, it is not surprising that all the teams have agreed and agreed on a busy test schedule in early 2026.
The pre-season tests will start unusually early with a five–day session in Barcelona - the races on the Spanish track will be held from January 26 to January 30. Then the teams will have an almost two-week break, during which they will be able to make the necessary adjustments to the cars.
Two three-day test sessions will be held in Bahrain in February 2026. First, the teams will work on the Sakhir highway from 11 to 13 February, and then from 18 to 20 February.
After completing the tests in Bahrain, the Formula 1 teams will travel to Melbourne, where the first stage of the season, the Australian Grand Prix, will be held from March 6 to March 8.
