Lance Stroll: It's hard to say what positions we're in.
Aston Martin drivers finished the second practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix in the top ten. Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso are satisfied with the car but suggest waiting for qualifying before drawing conclusions about the balance of power in Spielberg.
Lance Stroll (4th): "It's great to be back in Austria. This is a fantastic track where I've always enjoyed racing, so I've been looking forward to this weekend.
Over the past few weeks we've seen that the car has improved, so we'll try to do everything we can here. The weekend has only just started, so it's difficult to judge our position relative to the others, but the car handles well and we've completed our planned program for the day. Now we'll see how things shape up tomorrow."
Fernando Alonso (9th): "I feel better behind the wheel after the last two races. It seems like the car is coming alive, and I had the same feelings today. It’s not in the optimal working range yet, but we’ll see what progress we can make as the weekend goes on.
The gaps are minimal, so we’ll need to put together a perfect lap in qualifying and make sure we have strong race pace."
