Lawson: Qualifying promises to be intense.

On Friday, the Racing Bulls drivers did not make it into the top ten in Spielberg, but they are assessing the situation with cautious optimism…

Liam Lawson (12th): “So far, everything is going according to plan. The track here is very short, so the differences in lap times are minimal. Given how close the competition has been all season, qualifying promises to be intense.

We’re in pretty good shape, but like everyone else, we’re aiming to improve. In the first part of qualifying, dealing with traffic will be tricky, so tire temperature management and timing for a fast lap will be crucial. Hopefully, everything will work out for us.”

Isack Hadjar (13th): “I felt more comfortable in the second practice session, even though I ended up lower in the standings than in the first. Results on this short Spielberg track are so close that just a couple of tenths faster can move you up several positions at once.

Making it to the final round of qualifying will not be easy. It seems like the Aston Martin cars are faster than us at the moment, but we’ll do everything we can to get ahead of them.”
