Lewis Hamilton: "Overall, outside the track, everything is going great. I'm pleased with that. And I’m doing my best to ensure it translates into my results. Of course, I want to be ahead.

From the outside, it looks much worse than it actually is. The first six months of our work are behind us. It's always interesting to observe and understand how different teams operate and act. For example, Ferrari’s approach to setups is quite different from what I’m used to. I discuss with the engineers how to change things.

Sometimes I say, 'Hold on, that doesn’t make sense. For the last 17–18 years, I’ve been doing things differently, and usually it worked.' They say, 'We always do it exactly this way,' and I say, 'Let’s try it differently.'

We are working on trying new things, and gradually we are making progress. Starting from Monaco, we’ve improved our results, and that’s positive. We needed to ensure we act consistently and constructively.

The positive aspect is that we are progressing. I don’t know if it’s visible from the outside, but for me, that’s not the most important thing. I feel like I am making progress, that we are making progress, and that’s the most important."
