F3: Tasanapol Intrafuvasak won the Saturday sprint

Thai driver Tasanapol Inthrafua-sak finished first in Saturday’s Formula 3 sprint race, claiming his first career victory. He was joined on the podium by Martinius Stenshorne and Mari Boye.

Saturday morning greeted the participants of the youth championship with cloudy but dry weather. By the start, the air had warmed up to +19°C.

Pole-sitter Tasanapol Inthrafua-sak narrowly retained his lead at the start, repelling Christian Ho’s attack. However, Ho was overtaken by Théophile Naël in the sixth turn while fighting for second place. Championship leader Rafael Camara dropped back to eleventh.

On the first lap, Brando Badoer collided with Nikola Zolov. Zolov was able to continue, but Badoer became stuck in the gravel trap, prompting a safety car deployment.

The race restart occurred on lap five of eighteen. In the fourth turn, Martinius Stenshorne successfully overtook Ho and moved into third. Camara gained one position, entering the top ten.

On the sixth lap, Théophile Naël attacked Inthrafua-sak in the first sector. The two drivers raced side by side through several turns before Naël took the lead. The most active driver in the top ten was Laurent Van Hohen, who had moved up to fourth by lap nine.

On the tenth lap, the team instructed Naël to relinquish his position to Inthrafua-sak, as stewards launched an investigation for a possible off-track overtake. Naël complied and allowed the Campos driver past.

On lap thirteen, Mari Boya overtook Ugo Ugocukwu for sixth place. On the following lap, Boya gained another position by passing Ho. Ahead of the pair, Stenshorne overtook Naël and advanced to second.

On the sixteenth lap, Naël and Van Hohen battled wheel-to-wheel for third place, but Boya seized the moment and overtook both in the final turn.

Tasanapol Inthrafua-sak prevented Stenshorne from closing the gap for an attack and confidently led the race to his first career win. Mari Boya finished third, securing his third podium of the season.

Théophile Naël recorded the fastest lap and finished fourth, but immediately after the race, his result was penalized by ten seconds for leaving the track limits and gaining an advantage in the fight with Van Hohen. As a result, Naël dropped to twelfth.

Championship leader Rafael Camara finished eighth, second-place finisher Tim Tramnitz was eleventh, and Nikola Zolov ended twenty-ninth.
