Ralf Schumacher: Red Bull has decided to look for a new path
Former Formula 1 driver and commentator for German Sky Sport, Ralf Schumacher, believes the dismissal of Christian Horner from Red Bull was justified...
Ralf Schumacher: "Christian Horner's career at Red Bull was incredibly successful; he spent twenty years with the team and won many titles. I have great respect for his achievements, but in recent years his personal problems complicated things, causing many to leave the team and preventing him from attracting new people. Now, it's his turn.
They could no longer attract or retain strong specialists who simply didn't want to come because of Horner. I think that's why Red Bull made this decision.
Horner restructured everything, made someone new the number one, and accepted Adrian Newey's departure because he believed he could succeed without him, but he couldn't.
Things at Red Bull were going badly; Verstappen was planning to leave. At Silverstone, Max secured pole position thanks to his skill, but the car was so heavy and difficult to handle that he was barely visible during the race. Therefore, Red Bull's shareholders decided to look for a new direction.
We must not forget that Red Bull Racing has always been a young, charismatic, slightly revolutionary team with parties and entirely different values than today. All of this was gradually lost — Christian Horner has a completely different management style."
