Oscar Piastre: I didn't expect to give way to Ferrari

After qualifying in Hungary, Oscar Piastri finished second and admitted he didn't expect to lose to Ferrari...

Oscar Piastri (2nd): "The wind changed direction. It sounds not so great when you blame the wind, but between the second and third sessions, it shifted 180 degrees, and as a result, many corners felt completely different.

Conditions made it difficult to do everything right. Maybe I didn't handle the situation as well as I could have. I was surprised that we couldn't go faster. Second place is a good starting position, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Charles was fast all weekend, and this morning he was closer than we expected. During the day, the situation changed a bit. He did a great job, congratulations to him. I didn't expect to be second after Ferrari this weekend. But tomorrow's race will only benefit from this intrigue."

Lando Norris (3rd): "Considering our form, third place is disappointing, but Charles handled the crucial fast lap very well. He probably took a bit more risk — and it paid off. The wind shifted a lot, it seems it affected us.

But I’m not complaining. We both had some great laps at the end of qualifying, we just lacked the speed. What is there to complain about if Charles did a better job?

This is a long circuit with many turns. In the second part of qualifying, we showed how fast we can go, but once the wind changed, our advantage disappeared, and the last sector became even more challenging.

My goal for tomorrow? I want to bounce back, I want to win, and earn many points. An exciting race awaits, and we will probably be faster than Charles, so I can’t wait for the start."
